1. The Description
Intended as a venue to reflect upon life’s more inspiring moments, this blog category dedicates time to those seemingly insignificant experiences that have a way of remaining etched in our memories. Hoping to encourage as well as entertain, NoOrdinaryEnglishTeacher voices support for books, the written word, education in general, and the classroom specifically.
2. The Purpose
Depicting short vignettes of reflection that focus on the bits of wisdom learned from those poignant moments of life in and around the classroom, the words of WISDOM WEDNESDAY remind readers that good things still happen in schools today, despite what we hear about the plight of education. Influenced by students and teachers alike, NoOrdinaryEnglishTeacher wishes to validate what good teachers do for their students, and celebrate the great and miraculous things normal students do in school every day.
3. The Plan
On Wednesdays every other week, NoOrdinaryEnglishTeacher will reflect on insight she’s gained from her experiences and conversations with others. WISDOM WEDNESDAY is written in an attempt to relieve some of the frustration that happens in school for both students and teachers; these blog entries emphasize the good that comes from noble endeavors like teaching, learning, and reading. Friendly discussion and appropriate commenting about posted topics is appreciated.
4. The Request
Something that makes both literature and life so exciting is that we will never agree about everything; but remember, LiteratureIsNotExtinct is designed to be a supportive site that encourages others to notice literature at work in their lives. Please be your politest selves as you discuss.
